IPS Ceramics USA
IPS Ceramics USA
IPS Ceramics is a proud manufacturing company with a long history dating back to 1933, when a factory was established in Stoke-on-Trent, England to make refractory saggars for use in the local pottery industry. The company has grown to become a major global supplier of kiln furniture, with the USA being a major market for several decades.
IPS Ceramics’ USA subsidiary offers first-class service to the tableware, sanitary-ware and technical ceramics industries across the United States.
The company is headquartered in Cornelius, North Carolina and will be led day-to-day by vice president Mike Jackson. In addition to the offices, IPS has an US East Coast warehousing and distribution facility.
IPS sales director Phil Green commented: “Mike brings with him an in-depth knowledge and experience, not only of the traditional and technical sides of the ceramic industry, but also of the different aspects of the whole US market. I’m confident that having a US-based company will strengthen our position across the board.”
International Experience with Kiln Furniture and Technical Ceramics in the Ceramics Industry
Mike Jackson has spent several decades in the ceramic industry, having been based both in the UK and the USA. He had many years’ technical sales experience with Dyson Thermal Ceramics and more recently has been running US sales of ceramic and ceramic-related portfolios.
“I’m very much looking forward to the challenge of leading the operations of IPS Ceramics USA,” said Mike. “The company has so much to offer in terms of refractories and technical ceramics and it has the deep levels of experience and technical ability which I know will be appreciated by the advanced manufacturing sector here.
IPS Ceramics has always had strong trading links with the USA and counts some of the major manufacturers there as long-term valued customers. This includes buyers of both cordierite kiln furniture – especially in the sanitary-ware and tableware sectors – and of technical ceramics. In the past two years, sales of high alumina in particular, have been increasing steadily.
Having a dedicated office and personnel in the US, it enables the company to provide higher levels of service to customers right across the north, mid and south US, as well as providing the impetus for strategic growth in the NAFTA region as well as the important South American markets.
