Silicon Carbide Setters

GENERAL OVERVIEW
IPS Ceramics’ Silicon Carbide Setters are used to hold and support ware during the firing process. They are much stronger than cordierite setters and can be made thinner and lighter, reducing refractory-to-ware ratios. They are used for firings above 1250°C (2280°F) where an improved resistance to hot-bending is needed, or in lower temperature applications where weight and energy saving is necessary.
The unusual shape of these setters allows stacks of them to be closely packed, maximising kiln-fill. They are available in a wide range of sizes depending on your exact requirements.
