Sanitaryware Systems

The expert designers at IPS Ceramics have been working with the world’s major ceramic sanitaryware producers over several decades to achieve the sort of quality standards and energy efficiency that we see in this sector today.

With the numerous shapes required, the weight of sanitaryware and also the different methods of firing and refiring, then it is no surprise that the kiln furniture designs in this sector tend to be complex, demanding and are bespoke for each manufacturing customer.

Sanitaryware System

IPS Ceramics routinely designs and manufactures the main sanitaryware firing configurations:

  • Splicer System
  • Multi-Deck (Beam) System
  • Multi-Deck (Tube) System

We use standard beam systems, extruded batts, special lightweight cover batts, secondary placing furniture, as well as allowing for configurations that call for silicon carbide beams.

In this latter case, IPS calculates what are the correct dimensions of silicon carbide beams necessary to carry the required load. We also offer a range of different types of beams, including infiltrated silicon carbide and nitride bonded. These can be supplied together with the cordierite refractories as a complete package to the customer.

In order to support the various types of ceramic sanitaryware – WCs, bidets, tanks, basins, shower trays etc – IPS Ceramics will consider the entire kiln car superstructure and the secondary items and supports, such as:

  • Wash-Basin Setters
  • Tray Supports
  • Cast Stools
  • Special Setting Legs
  • Special Setting Supports
  • Extruded Supports
  • Special Accessories

Some of these individual items are covered in more detail in other pages featured in this section of the website.
